Top Personal Finance Posts Of The Week ? Super Bowl XLVI ...

I?m getting ready to head out the door to watch four hours of commercials which will be?occasionally?interrupted?by a football game.

I?m not really sure why I go to a super bowl party each year. It?s usually the only professional football game I watch all year. I don?t particularly care about either team playing today. I really don?t care about any professional football team at all.

Meh ? I?m not kidding anyone. I go to super bowl parties for the food.?I fully expect to be slipping in a full-blown food coma by the time half-time hits.

The Top Personal Finance Post of The Week

And my pick of the week is??

Living in Volatility?s post What about the 99% of the 1%?

I don?t care if Mark Zuckerberg is worth $100 billion dollars. It does not matter to me that Kobe Bryant gets paid over $27 million dollars per season to play basketball. It couldn?t mater less that the vapid dimwits on the Jersey Shore get paid $100k per episode. Are these salaries and fortunes justifiable? Undoubtedly yes! Why? Because someone (the market) is willing to hand over this money to them.

All the fuss about about the 1% irritates me for this very reason. Unless someone gained their wealth illegally or immorally, I have no problem with them being rich. They?re wealthy because the market was willing to pay them very well for their product or service.

And note that if you really are so concerned about what other people (the 1%) make and you spend your days wondering whether it is justified or not, there is only one word for that: jealously.
