Business Consulting in Philippines - Pointers for the Nervous ...

Are you currently exhausted of going through the same issues within your organization? Do you want to produce certain changes but do not know exactly where to start? Are you currently willing to go with outside assistance? If you replied "yes" to all concerns, then you'll need organizations providing business consulting. Philippine business owners can benefit from consultancies as they deliver current and required remedies.

What exactly is business consultancy like?

Business consultancies generally perform as change instigators for established companies. Lots of of these firms work with companies that need to strengthen or modify specific aspects within their enterprise. They go over areas including production, accounting techniques, and employee employing, amongst others.

For instance, if a company continues to have troubles with their accounting techniques, the consultant needs to take a cautious examination of the existing procedure involved. They might study how the accounting division addresses their concerns and check the methodologies in place. At the end of the designated period of time, they can recommend specific changes to make things run a lot more efficiently.

A further function they offer is providing advice relating to company registration. Philippine traders who are new to the country's economic method generally seek out this help from firms offering business consulting. Philippine consulting corporations also supply considerable help on how to file registrations, permits, and due taxes for individuals about to begin their own companies.

They can also make recommendations to help the new company gain a lot more clients. Typically, they are those undertaking analysis to be able to know what the markets need. The consultancies study what items and services are sensible to launch. This business also analyzes what upcoming regulations might benefit a start-up enterprise.

How does a company benefit from consulting?

Output may possibly be the leading benefit in business consulting. Philippine business proprietors with established organizations typically report how instigated alterations did them good. Some business owners report having added time on their hands as the consultant made their procedure well organized. Others report an increase in profit as their production methods became improved.

Start-up businesses also benefit from consultancies specially when it comes to company registration. Philippine traders who are set to begin new businesses speed up the registration process and stay away from potential infractions.

Just how much will it cost?

It depends on the range and time allotted to the service. For instance, if you want to re-work your overall business model, you have to prepare for this. Assessing current systems to make brand new and improved ones requires significant work on the part of the consultancy. At this rate, they need to allocate more people to your firm to make required observations. In addition they need extra people to examine and put into action new processes once initial inquiries are complete. Extra employed manpower means much more capital required

Aggressive charges, on the other hand could possibly be in place if you simply need short-term assistance. A lot of consultancies offer you premium rates especially for instant assistance. The help extended will also be complete and worth every cent.

If you're planning to hire consultancies, make certain to verify the rates provided by companies offering business consulting. Philippine business entrepreneurs should also keep in mind to demand a written contract before embarking on the offer. Realizing the prices and particular contracts ensures you get the services you'll need at the appropriate price.

NE Ohio Real Estate News: Parma Home Sales Update | Cleveland ...

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Yesterday we reviewed recent data for Lakewood Ohio home sales. Today, asa requested, focusing on Parma housing inventory, recent sales and homes buyers recently liked enough to begin the ?offer? process.? These stats, as always, reflect info for homes sold through area brokerages.? And they are all single family home stats.

Inventory in Parma is a bit higher than Lakewood.? As of today, there are 397 single family homes for sale in Parma Ohio. ?That still puts Parma into the category of about 18+ months of homes for sale.? (If anyone wishes, I can delve into homes in various price ranges to see if there is an existing need for homes in those categories.? It?s an interesting way to analyze and I can do that for communities as well.)

There are however, 94 homes under contract, meaning offers were accepted more recently and sellers and buyers are waiting for mortgages to be approved, inspections satisfactorily completed, and titles to transfer.? What did buyers like??

First, all but a handful of these 93 homes are 3 or 4 bedroom homes.

Second, ranches are, luckily, a bit more abundant in Parma than in some other communities.? Ranches can be hot commodities because in that category, there is often a need for more listings. The range of ranches under contract start around $50k and go up to $189,900.?

Ten homes were listed at $120k or more.? And yes, there are quite a few listed under $75k and many of them are involved in the foreclosure process. For homes buyers recently liked, the average price per square foot is $60/square foot.

Since July, 331 homes have sold in Parma. The average sale price was $87,880 and $60/square foot. (Interesting to me that both Lakewood and Parma showed same ?per sq. ft. price for pending sales and past six month sales?).?

The highest sale price in the past six months went to a home on Peachtree for $215k.? There were about 50 homes sold between $120k and $200k.?

The other similarity to Lakewood comps, is that most (with a few exceptions) had the ?move in/turn key? quality going for them.? Even if they needed some updating, they were ready for buyers to move in and do the work, if they chose that route.? I notice air conditioning (central air) more prominent among

BSkyB to launch online TV service to spur growth (Reuters)

LONDON (Reuters) ? BSkyB, Britain's dominant pay-TV group, is to launch an online offering to enable it to better take on the likes of Lovefilm and Netflix, following some signs of slowing growth at its main satellite business.

BSkyB said on Tuesday it would launch the new service to tap in to the 13 million homes which do not pay for its television service, offering movies and sports without the need for a contract or satellite dish.

BSkyB made the announcement as it revealed it had added 40,000 net new customers to its main TV service in the second quarter, slightly below expectations despite being helped by strong customer loyalty.

With a strong focus on cost control and a new strategy of selling more products to existing customers, the group however posted strong first-half results and increased its dividend.

"Sky shares should bounce on strong financial and operating trends but medium-term worries will persist, potentially exacerbated rather than assuaged by Sky proposing to retail BT's Infinity and to introduce a broadband-delivered low-cost Sky Movies product," analysts at investment bank Morgan Stanley said in a note.

Shares in BSkyB were up 3 percent at 685.5 pence by 4:37 a.m. ET, having fallen 11 percent year to date over fears the group would have to invest in faster broadband services, spend heavily to acquire soccer rights and compete with the likes of Lovefilm.

On Tuesday BSkyB said instead of investing in its own fiber network it would use BT Group Plc's superfast infrastructure known as BT Infinity on a wholesale basis to offer its customers speeds of 40 megabits per second.

SUPERFAST SPEEDS

The faster broadband speeds, which have proved popular with customers of rival Virgin Media inc, could help compliment BSkyB's push in watching more content online.

BSkyB has offered its own customers the opportunity to watch programming online before, but the push to offer its content to non-Sky customers is a new tactic for the group.

It follows the recent launch of the U.S. online DVD rental company Netflix Inc in Britain and Ireland, which prompted Amazon-owned rival Lovefilm to offer a new cut-price service. BSkyB has not yet set out its pricing plans.

The new offering will launch in the first half of 2012 and will enable customers to watch Sky content including movies and eventually sports on a range of flexible tariffs and without signing a contract.

BSkyB -- which also said it would create 1,300 new jobs in Britain and Ireland in a drive to improve customer service -- has grown through the economic downturn by attracting consumers to its range of sports, movies and broadband, but it has started to show signs of slowing in recent quarters.

The 40,000 net new customers added in the second quarter was above the 26,000 it added in the first quarter but below the 140,000 added in the second quarter a year ago. Analysts had expected net new TV customers of 58,000.

To balance out the slowing growth it sold an increasing number of different services to existing customers, such as high-definition TV or broadband, enabling it to post strong first-half results.

Revenue was up 6 percent to 3.4 billion pounds ($5.3 billion) and adjusted operating profit grew 16 percent to 601 million.

"Amidst all the Netflix noise comes a reminder that Sky is not about to give up its crown lightly," said Richard Hunter, head of equities at brokerage Hargreaves Lansdown. "The launch of its online offering further complements its existing technical reach alongside the potential for new customers.

"The positive reaction to today's news should at least consolidate the market consensus of the shares as a cautious buy."

The company did not make any new comment on the position of its chairman James Murdoch, who has come under pressure for his handling of a phone hacking scandal at News Corp's UK newspaper arm. News Corp owns almost 40 percent of BSkyB.

Strike grips Belgium as EU leaders meet (Reuters)

BRUSSELS (Reuters) ? Belgium's first general strike in almost two decades brought the country to a partial halt on Monday in an anti-austerity protest aimed at the government and EU leaders meeting in Brussels.

The entire rail network closed, buses and trams were idled, many schools and shops shut and production at the Audi and Volvo car plants stopped.

Charleroi Airport, a hub for Ryanair and other low-cost carriers, was forced to cancel all flights due to union plans to block the access road.

However, at Brussels airport most flights were running. India's Jet Airways, which uses Brussels as its European hub, rerouted flights via Amsterdam. United Continental cancelled its services to and from the United States.

"Some airlines cancelled services ahead of time ... but overall I think only about 10 percent of flights will be hit," an airport spokesman said.

High-speed international trains, such as the Eurostar from London and Thalys from Paris, were not running into or out of the country as of late on Sunday.

"We are a bit put out, but we recognize the right of people to strike," said Luiz Lopez, a university professor from Brazil seeking to travel to London.

At the port of Antwerp, Europe's second busiest, all container and some bulk cargo terminals were shut, with shipping traffic suffering delays due to suspended harbor services.

The walkout coincides with the 17th EU summit in two years as the bloc battles to resolve its sovereign debt problems. The EU leaders will sign off on a permanent rescue fund for the euro zone and are expected to agree on a balanced budget rule in national legislation.

Unions have called the general strike, Belgium's first since 1993, over government plans to raise the effective retirement age along with other measures designed to save 11.3 billion euros ($14.8 billion).

"We are angry because they want to attack our pensions," said Philippe Dubois, a railway union member outside Brussels' Midi station. "We want to make some noise."

Belgium has pledged to bring its public sector deficit below the EU limit of 3 percent of gross domestic product this year to avoid an EU fine and to reassure investors it has its finances under control.

BATTLE AHEAD

The government knows growth this year will be below the 0.8 percent assumed for the budget drawn in December. A likely stagnation or contraction will force it to seek further savings when it revises the budget next month.

Economists estimate it will need to find an extra 1.5 billion to 2 billion euros.

The battle lines are being drawn for that debate, with the French-speaking Socialist Party of Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo insisting the rich should bear a greater burden with higher rates of tax on capital.

Pro-business Liberals and centre-right Christian Democrats, also in Di Rupo's six-party coalition, say higher taxes would push the country into recession and government spending should be cut more.

Union leaders say they fear the government might be tempted to suspend its system of wage indexation, the linking of pay to inflation criticized by the European Commission and international economic organizations as driving up prices and undermining Belgium's competitive position.

Economists say a single skipping of an automatic pay hike could save the government at least 1 billion euros.

For now, many Belgians appear to have accepted the need for austerity measures. According to an opinion poll in top-selling newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws last week, only 21 percent of Belgians supported the strike.

Indy battens down hatches for Super Bowl security (AP)

INDIANAPOLIS ? From pickpockets and prostitutes to dirty bombs and exploding manhole covers, authorities are bracing for whatever threat the first Super Bowl in downtown Indianapolis might bring.

Some ? nuclear terrorism, for instance ? are likely to remain just hypothetical. But others, like thieves and wayward manhole covers, are all too real.

Though Indianapolis has ample experience hosting large sporting events ? the Indianapolis 500 attracts more than 200,000 fans each year, and the NCAA's men's Final Four basketball tournament has been held here six times since 1980_ the city's first Super Bowl poses some unique challenges.

Unlike the Final Four, which is compressed into a weekend, the Super Bowl offers crowd, travel and other logistical challenges over 10 days leading up to the Feb. 5 game. And unlike the 500, where events are largely concentrated at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway about seven miles from Lucas Oil Stadium, the NFL's showcase event will consume 44 blocks ? about a mile square ? in the heart of the city, closing off streets and forcing an anticipated 150,000 or more NFL fans to jockey with downtown workers for space much of the week.

"This is clearly bigger in terms of the amount of people who will be downtown over an extended period of time," city Public Safety Director Frank Straub said.

Under a security risk rating system used by the federal government, the Super Bowl ranks just below national security events involving the president and the Secret Service, said Indianapolis Chief of Homeland Security Gary Coons. The ratings are based on factors including international attention, media coverage, the number of people the event attracts and visits by celebrities and foreign dignitaries, he said. The Indianapolis 500 ranks two levels below the Super Bowl.

The city has invested millions of dollars and worked with local, state and federal agencies to try to keep all those people safe. Up to 1,000 city police officers will be in the stadium and on the street, carrying smartphones and other electronic hand-held devices that will enable them to feed photos and video to a new state-of-the-art operations center on the city's east side or to cruisers driven by officers providing backup, Straub said. Hundreds of officers from other agencies, including the state police and the FBI, will be scanning the crowd for signs of pickpocketing, prostitution or other trouble.

One concern has been a series of explosions in Indianapolis Power & Light's underground network of utility cables. A dozen underground explosions have occurred since 2005, sending manhole covers flying.

Eight explosions have occurred since 2010. The latest, on Nov. 19, turned a manhole cover into a projectile that heavily damaged a parked car and raised concerns about the safety of Super Bowl visitors walking on streets and soaring above the Super Bowl village on four zip lines installed for the festivities.

Since December, IPL has spent about $180,000 to install 150 new locking manhole covers, primarily in the Super Bowl village and other areas expected to see high pre-game traffic.

IPL officials say the new Swiveloc manhole covers can be locked for security reasons during the Super Bowl. In case of an explosion, the covers lift a couple of inches off the ground ? enough to vent gas out without feeding in oxygen to make an explosion bigger ? before falling back into place.

An Atlanta consultant hired by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission last summer to audit IPL's underground network of cables for a cause of the explosions says the new covers are merely a Band-Aid.

"We've argued it's better to prevent," said Dan O'Neill of O'Neill Management Consulting, which filed its report in December.

O'Neill's team couldn't pinpoint an exact cause for the explosions but said a flawed inspection process contributed, noting that IPL workers missed warning signs such as road salt corroding an old cable or leaks in nearby steam pipes. In a report filed Jan. 19 with Indiana utility regulators, the power company said it had overhauled its inspection process.

IPL will dispatch extra crews to the area around the stadium in case of power-related problems, such as a recent breaker fire that left 10,000 customers in homes south of downtown without power. Spokeswoman Crystal Livers-Powers said the company doesn't anticipate any power issues.

Straub, the public safety director, said he's confident the city is prepared and notes that Indianapolis hosts major events "pretty regularly."

Special teams from the Department of Energy will sweep Lucas Oil Stadium and the surrounding area for nuclear terror threats, and a new $18 million high-tech communications center that opened in time for the lead-up to the game will tie it all together.

"We're using more technology, and state of the art technology, than has been used in any Super Bowl before this one," Straub said.
